What to expect from start to finish with Invisalign® teeth straightening

The Invisalign® process from start to finish

1. Initial consultation

During your initial consultation, Dr. Allan Link or Dr. Andrew Link will examine your teeth, talk with you about your goals for your smile, and answer any questions you have about the Invisalign® process to determine whether this treatment is right for you. If Invisalign® is not the best choice, we offer other orthodontic options such as Fastbraces to transform your smile. If you are ready to move forward with Invisalign®, digital impressions of your mouth are taken to create a precise 3D model of your teeth and jaw. The Invisalign® laboratory then uses this to create your customized series of aligners.

2. Wearing your first set of aligners

Once your aligners are ready – typically a few weeks later – you will return to the office to pick them up. We may place small, clear attachments on your teeth that help the aligners stay in place. We will go over all the details you need to know about wearing and caring for your aligners during your initial fitting.

3. Follow-up appointments

As your treatment progresses, you will switch out your aligners every one to two weeks as they gradually shift your teeth into the ideal position. You will come into the office for periodic checkups so we can evaluate your progress, but these are quick, painless, and adjustment-free.

4. Straight, beautiful teeth

After your series of aligners is complete, you are free to enjoy your brand-new smile! We will give you a clear retainer to wear while you sleep that will help you maintain excellent results.
