Veneers

Overview of Veneers

The DentaLink | Dentist Fenton | VeneersVeneers are very thin shells that are bonded to the front surfaces of teeth to change the color, repair cracked or chipped teeth, close gaps, and even cover old dental work without replacing the restoration. In essence, veneers repair worn dentition instantly. By improving the appearance of misalignment, veneers can be a convenient and cost-effective alternative to orthodontic treatment such as wearing braces for months or years.

Dr. Allan Link utilizes his training and experience to provide patients with several options for veneers at TheDentaLink's Ballwin and St. Louis offices.

Traditional veneers are durable and natural-looking porcelain coverings. Natural teeth are prepped – the front surfaces are ground down very slightly. Impressions are made of the mouth and sent to a dental lab, where custom veneers are precisely created for an ideal fit and appearance. At a second visit, they are permanently cemented to the teeth for immediate smile enhancement.

Lumineers are a bit more conservative. Because they are contact lens thin, they require little or no reduction of the tooth enamel. That means no numbing shots or drilling. They are simply created from impressions, and affixed to the teeth. Lumineers are backed by the manufacturer's 30 years of experience and come with a guarantee. We call Lumineers "one visit orthodontics."

Snap-On Smiles and Snap-It! are removable veneers. These appliances are a temporary solution to effortlessly (they don't cover the palate like a "flipper") improve the appearance of one or more teeth. They are great for a special occasion or until your budget allows for permanent veneers or Lumineers.

Veneers, Lumineers, Snap-On Smile, and Snap-It! are the comfortable, convenient way to have a bright white flawless smile. Traditional veneers and Lumineers resist chipping and staining, and keep their sparkle long-term. Your natural looking, beautiful smile will last for many years.

Teeth Veneers

Dr. Link | The DentaLink | Dentist Mehlville MOImproving the aesthetics of the smile is a part of dentistry many patients are concerned about. Individuals who have dealt with imperfections of the teeth may feel self-conscious about their smiles. They may avoid laughing or smiling, or cover their smiles with their hands when they talk with others. It is important that patients are proud of their smiles and love sharing them with others, which is why Dr. Allan Link of TheDentaLink, LLC provides cosmetic dentistry services.

Dr. Allan Link and his team at both the Saint Louis and Ballwin locations are dedicated to assisting others in achieving smiles they are proud of. This practice is equipped with some of the latest services for optimum smile design. Our team has the experience to offer cosmetic treatments such as veneers for rejuvenation.

Veneers are facings made of ceramic bonded over the front of teeth. This helps in disguising problems of the natural teeth that may not be improved in any other manner. Veneers are perfect for teeth that are misaligned, fractured, or permanently stained. Veneers are also a wonderful alternative to braces for addressing spaces between teeth. These restorations are used in many ways.

Not only do we provide traditional veneers, but our team also offers Lumineers. Lumineers are another type of veneer, but they are much thinner. This eliminates the need to prepare the tooth by removing a thin layer of enamel. Lumineers are reversible, while traditional veneers are not. Both are known for lasting many years with proper care and attention from patients and their dental team.

The team at TheDentaLink, LLC is dedicated to assisting others in achieving both healthy and beautiful smiles. The practice assists family members of all ages with a wide range of dental concerns. When patients are faced with numerous imperfections, veneers can be a perfect choice. These permanent, natural-looking restorations are commonly used by patients to achieve the smile of their dreams! Lumineers Treatment

Dr Link | Lumineers Treatment | Dentist Ballwin, MODisguising imperfections of the smile is simpler than patients realize. In fact, with the use of Lumineers, patients can quickly disguise breakage, staining, and gaps between teeth without preparation of the natural teeth.

Lumineers are a type of veneer. Veneers are porcelain restorations made extremely thin to bond onto the front of teeth to cover problem areas. At TheDentaLink, LLC, we offer both traditional veneers and Lumineers for patients and guide them through the process of determining which option is appropriate for their specific needs.

Veneers require a dentist to remove a substantial portion of enamel from the front of the tooth. Then, impressions are made and sent to a dental laboratory for the fabrication of the new restorations. When they arrive at the dental office, Dr. Allan Link bonds them in place and patients enjoy immediate improvement.

Lumineers do not require preparations. The benefit of Lumineers is the fact they are reversible. Patients do not have to prepare their teeth with the removal of tooth enamel. This gives them the option to have the Lumineers taken off later on and consider alternative options. Lumineers are much thinner, which eliminates their need for enamel removal. Lumineers are comparable in appearance to traditional porcelain veneers, but it is the thickness that sets them apart.

Lumineers typically cost more than traditional veneers. However, the option to remove these no-prep restorations is the primary selling point for many of our patients. Dr. Allan Link and his team believe Lumineers are appropriate for patients unsure of how to address imperfections of their smiles permanently. Another option patients can consider is composite resin bonding, but this is not a long-term choice for many individuals as are veneers.

If you are considering Lumineers treatment over traditional porcelain veneers and want to discuss options with a dedicated dentist, contact Dr. Allan Link of TheDentaLink, LLC today to book a consultation appointment and an initial evaluation of the smile. We encourage our patients to learn about the options available to them when it comes to cosmetically enhancing smiles.

Porcelain Veneers

Imperfections of the smile are a common concern. Dr. Allan Link and his team welcome patients in and around the areas of Ballwin and Saint Louis to discuss the benefits of using restorative means to improve aesthetics. For patients with mild imperfections, a solution such as porcelain veneers may be discussed.

The DentaLink | Porcelain Veneers | Dentist Saint Louis MO

Porcelain veneers are a wonderful option for patients ready to achieve a more beautiful smile in a quick yet effective manner. Porcelain veneers are ceramic restorations our team uses to cover unsightly areas of the smile. This may include coverage of permanently stained teeth, gaps between teeth, and fractures. In other situations, porcelain veneers can be used to reshape teeth. Veneers are preferred over composite resin bonding because they are stain-resistant and can last a decade or longer.

These ceramic restorations are extremely thin. They are bonded over the front of natural teeth to cover imperfections. They require removal of enamel to place them without adding extra bulk. This is why some of our patients ask about Lumineers, another solution available. Lumineers are even thinner than traditional veneers and do not require enamel to be filed down for placement. This makes them reversible if patients change their minds later on. Lumineers are costly, but all dental work in our practice can be financed with the help of our front office staff.

Porcelain veneers and Lumineers are only used on the anterior teeth. These are the teeth near the front of the mouth. Teeth near the back of the mouth that need aesthetic changes may benefit from thicker, more durable options such as dental crowns. Porcelain veneers and Lumineers are durable for biting forces near the front of the mouth, but are not designed to cover teeth near the back – including the molars.

Whether you are deciding between Lumineers or traditional veneers, the team of TheDentaLink, LLC can help. Contact one of our conveniently located practices in Ballwin and Saint Louis to educate yourself further on the advantages of each. Our team of professionals will guide patients through the process of determining which is best for their specific needs.
